Our Communication Consulting team objective is to improve participant outcomes through strategic communications in collaboration with our clients and business partners. We have dedicated teams that support different plan sizes and complexities. What you’ll do: As a Communication Manager, you will be accountable for developing communications based upon defined client strategies to help drive outcomes for our plan participants.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with the Communications Consultant to gain context on a plan’s communication strategy and communication deliverables needed

  • Lead discussions with key partners and client contacts to ensure that all goals, timelines, and expectations are clearly understood and well documented

  • Drive creation of custom communication materials consistent with agreed-upon approaches: includes writing, editing, and collaborating on design of materials

  • Leverage existing content as appropriate for standard communications

  • Keep key partners apprised of client conversations, issues, and risks Identify trends in participant communications and share information with leadership to continually enhance Schwab’s overall communications approach.

What you have:

  • Demonstrated experience in Qualified Retirement Plans, Financial Planning, Employee Benefits or in a Marketing Communications role

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience demonstrating a basic understanding of ERISA, pension/trust compliance, DC and DB plans

  • Strong communication skills, including proven writing skills with the demonstrated ability to create marketing and communications content

  • Excellent project and time management skills; able to personally manage multiple projects and drive projects to completion smoothly

  • Good listening skills; presents well on the phone and in documents

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority

  • Able to collaborate and work effectively with other functions to meet Plan Sponsor and Participant needs

  • Strong ability to develop internal and external partnerships

  • High achievement orientation; measures success through quantitative results.
