Our Opportunity:

The Schwab Technology Services (STS) Finance Manager opportunity is a vital member of the Technology and Operations Finance organization. This high profile position provides direct financial oversight and decision support for areas within Advisor Services Technology (AST) and Client Experience Technology (CET). In addition, you will work across the Finance organization. With your analytics and financial savvy, you'll liaise between the Finance team and the functional areas it supports. You will resolve issues related to forecasting, planning, analysis, and resource prioritization, and you will help create and translate business case analyses into easy-to-understand presentations.

What you’ll do:

Relationship / thought partnership with technology leaders at all levels (including senior management) in multiple geographical locations. Build and maintain financial models to inform decision making. Facilitate ongoing forecasting and the annual budgeting process (expense & personnel). Lead monthly close process around expenses, personnel and related metrics. Help drive business decisions or influence technology investment decisions including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Perform other financial reporting needs as required by the business, routine and ad-hoc analysis, and projects.

What you have:

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance or Accounting with a minimum 4-6 years of relevant Financial Planning & Analysis experience.

  • Demonstrated aptitude to think strategically and advise senior business managers on a broad set of decisions.

  • Must be able to devise and articulate solutions to a wide range of business problems and deliver high-quality and actionable results against often unstructured and ad-hoc work deliverables.

  • Excellent communication (written / verbal) and interpersonal skills with strong presentation / PowerPoint experience.

  • You must be comfortable partnering with staff and management at senior officer level and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.

  • Outstanding client focus is a must.

  • Strong financial analysis, modeling and data manipulation skills, proficiency with key finance concepts (variance analysis, investment / cash-flow analysis, etc.) and attention to detail.

  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and financial modeling.

  • Experience sourcing data from database applications and working efficiently with large data sets. Preferred:

  • MBA or similar degree.

  • Prior experience supporting an IT organization and knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

  • Knowledge of / experience with data automation software.
