Our Opportunity:

We’re looking for an award-winning, highly conceptual, strategic writer and creative director to lead our team of talented writers. We’re Creative Center, Schwab’s growing in-house agency and we want a lot. Experience, inspiring leadership and, most of all, amazingly persuasive writing. In this senior role, you’ll be asked to tackle a wide range of work while building and managing the writer team and partnering closely with our art direction lead to co-direct the agency’s creative product. This position reports directly to our agency VP.

What you’ll do:

You’ll inspire. You’ll create exceptional work both by setting an example with your own work and by elevating your teams work through your vision, experience and ideas. You have a passion for high-level strategy and hands-on writing. You’re able to write and direct anything from compelling videos to social media, web and mobile content, print ads, interactive, content marketing, emails, you get the idea. You’re able to thrive and excel in a fast-moving environment.

  • Bring the voice of Schwab to life across multiple channels

  • Help evolve the Schwab brand voice, while expertly crafting all levels of writing needed for Schwab-branded communications

  • Demystify complex financial topics with clear and straightforward copy

  • Build, mentor and grow the writing team at Creative Center

  • Critique the writing team’s copy and make suggestions that elevate the work

  • Stimulate professional development and inspiration within the team

  • Help develop and maximize creative briefs

  • Partner with the Managing Director of Art Direction developing our creative productEnsure a team approach to problem solving across both client and agency representatives

  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, product marketers and engineers to serve multiple audiences both B2C and B2B

  • Take the lead on key areas of business and inspire other creatives by raising the bar with creative exploration and innovation

  • Consistently maintain on-time delivery and best practices around writing and strategy

  • Look for and recommend process enhancements to enable the best possible creative work within a given schedule

  • Persuasively present work and help your team become expert presenters

  • Diplomatically defend your work and area of expertise, while maintaining positive relationships with partners in the organization

  • Demonstrate integrity, maturity and a constructive approach to challenges

What you have:

  • 10+ years of experience as a copywriter for national/global consumer brands and campaigns in an agency or in-house creative department

  • Experience directing, building and managing high-performance creative teams

  • Extraordinary conceptul skills

  • Strong background in writing and understanding all things digital

  • Knowledge of investing products and services is definitely a plus

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Advertising or related field or equivalent experience preferred

  • An award-winning portfolio proving copywriting ability across multiple channels is required (please provide a link or upload your portfolio along with your resume)
