The objective of the CSIM Business Analysis team is to possess in-depth business knowledge to successfully represent the business community in arriving at technical solutions that lead business strategies through implementation. The team participates in the day-to-day support of CSIM applications used by various lines of business in CSIM. The CSIM BA team plays an important role in ensuring that the CSIM user community has the tools it needs to manage over $300 billion in assets.
This position is based in Chicago, IL, managing the business analysis function to support the dynamic needs of the CSIM’s Investment Risk Management area.
What you’ll do:
The role includes management of full-time employees, vendor relationships and contractors. The role encompasses establishing and directing the strategic and tactical goals, building a client driven technology organization improving the software quality, platform and technology service provided to the CSIM business.
In addition to the functional responsibilities within the technology organization, the role will include playing a pivotal role in the requirements gathering process for the Investment Risk technology platform by utilizing the candidate’s blend of business domain and technical knowledge. CSIM Technology strives to build proprietary applications and integrate industry leading vendor software to help our business partners gain a competitive advantage, while we provide a cohesive, flexible and scalable technology platform that supports future business growth. The ideal candidate also needs to be able to have hands-on experience in business analysis and is willing to dive into details as an individual contributor to projects.
What you have:
This role requires a highly motivated, organized and experienced business-focused technology leader with a proven record of software delivery to a front office investment management business.
Qualifications & Experience
A university degree from a well-respected academic institution; advanced degrees in Information management, Computer Science, Business Administration and/or other professional certifications are a plus
10+ years of experience leading large scale initiatives in the financial industry, preferably in the area of asset management investment risk, and managing a team of technology professionals
Minimum of 7 years’ experience managing a team of business systems analysts that support investment management business disciplines
Hands-on experience as a business analyst with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle including web development
Knowledge of the asset management investment risk function and proven track record of support for the group
Proven record of delivering technology solutions within agreed upon budgets and timeframes
Substantiated experience raising the bar on staff delivery performance and cultivating high performance work environments
Significant experience transforming teams through technology, organization, culture, process and business change management
Ability to manage the priorities of the Investment Risk and Credit Research stakeholders
Experience building teams in multiple locations and motivating all levels of staff towards both tactical and strategic delivery goals
Ability to drive change with external counterparties and vendors, managing and enhancing relationships and services provided
Outstanding performer, persistent and pro-active leader, detailed oriented, and driven to exceed expectations
Working experience as a member of an Agile Scrum team and as a manager of members of a scrum team
Shows a commitment to high ethical standards and integrity and demonstrates this through action
Skilled communicator and negotiator with exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
