Our Opportunity:

This position is located within the Sales & Service Technology (SST) group at Charles Schwab and will support the Contact Center Experience (CCX) Reporting & Automation (R&A) team. This team provides internal reporting and various web-based applications to our Financial Professionals, Leadership, and Support Organizations enabling them to be more productive and effective with our clients. R&A does this by designing, developing and implementing custom solutions for our business partners to meet strategic business and technical objectives.

What you’ll do:

SST is seeking a Software QA Engineer to test on multiple projects in close co-ordination with Development, Business, and Release Management. It’s the responsibility of the individual to ensure our software releases are high quality and provide an exceptional user experience.

The individual shall also be responsible for working with other QA leads to determine testing strategies/plan, test data definition and set-up, test execution, bug reporting, test status/metrics, etc., while being able to independently make quality decisions. The role is well suited for a multi-faceted QA professional who may have varied experience in software development while seeking newer challenges in his/her career at Charles Schwab.

What you have:

  • A graduate in Computer Science/Information Science or equivalent with formal testing certification

  • 3+ years in software Quality Assurance

  • Familiar with formal test tools like Atlassian Zephyr, HP Quality Center/Microsoft Test Manager, MS Team Foundation Server, Automation tools like MS Coded UI, QTP/BPT, Silk; and Toad or PL SQL, Putty etc.

  • Familiarity in testing applications built with technologies like Oracle, C#, ASP.Net, Web services, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, IIS web server

  • Familiarity with Continuous Delivery (CI) & Continuous Delivery (CD)

  • Familiarity with automation frameworks

  • Familiarity with Call Center Desktop application (softphone, etc.) preferred

  • Knowledge of Bitbucket/Bamboo preferred

  • Ability to run batch processing using Unix, write and create complex SQL statements to ensure data integrity

  • Proficiency with testing web services using SOAP tools would be an advantage

  • Experience with performance testing tools highly desirable (i.e., experience with writing, executing, and analyzing performance test cases)

  • Experience converting business user stories and functional system requirements into detailed test cases

  • Provide and meet estimates for assigned deliverables. Establish priorities and coordinate activities ensuring business requirements are met

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and QA responsibilities within an Agile Scrum Team

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly energetic, geographically dispersed environment

  • Ability to learn quickly, communicate effectively, write detailed and thorough documentation, troubleshoot and problem solve
