Our Opportunity:

Alternative Investment Services provides support to retail clients and internal business partners for transactions and questions involving non-publicly traded securities.

What you’ll do:

As an Alternative Investment Service Senior Specialist, you will pursue our mission and values. You will be expected to:

  • Develop and expand relationships with high net worth Investor Services clients by providing a full spectrum of services involving alternative investments through the phone and email channels.

  • Educate and support clients and internal business partners on all questions and transactions surrounding alternative investments. Engage with alternative investment issuers as needed.

  • Engage with upset clients, acknowledge their concerns and ensure steps are taken to address those concerns.

  • Deliver outstanding service to our clients in order to build and maintain client loyalty.

  • Test independently and support implementation of new enhancements, products or systems, and may identify and resolve problems with existing systems.

  • Develop training materials for team members and business partners on team functions.

  • Meet expected service level agreements with respect to incoming calls and additional team processing responsibilities. Initiate changes to workflow as needed.

  • Provide guidance related to complex problems, including research to address situations involving alternative investments and respond to clients and internal business partners as appropriate.

  • Create and leverage partnerships with various Schwab teams, including Alternative Investment Custody Service and Advisor Services support teams.

  • Assist manager in enhancing process efficiencies.

  • Coordinate the completion of work by the team by tracking deadlines and responsibilities.

  • Master all team functions, including a comprehensive understanding of related processes

  • Possess an expert understanding of alternative investments and the industry

  • Initiate discussion during individual and group meetings.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in financial services

  • 4+ years industry experiences in the securities, brokerage or financial services industry with alternative investment experience or knowledge preferred

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Highly effective in a fast-paced and dynamic environment requiring multi-tasking and attention to details

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional risk management, research, decision making and problem resolution skills

  • Expert conflict resolution skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of IRS rules surrounding retirement accounts

  • Self-directed, driven individual who seeks to proactively learn, research and support the team and our clients.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong business relationships

  • Series 7/63 FINRA license preferred
