The Model Risk Management (MRM) Governance team resides within MRM under the Corporate Risk Management organization at Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. Model Risk Management is responsible for effectively managing the risk to the firm of using financial models. A responsibility of the MRM Technical Validator is to perform technical validation/audit of controls surrounding model environments.
What you’ll do:
Participate on model validation projects by examining technical controls, including:
Model change management procedures,
State of model implementation,
Data integrity checks,
Data backup and archiving process, etc.
Present work through formal model validation reports, as well as through presentations to model owners and senior managers.
What you have:
Ability to create robust documentation (technical and non-technical)
Sharp critical thinking, problem solving skills, and high attention to detail
Ability to drive work independently
Highly comfortable working in a fast-paced, technologically-advanced environment
Preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred: Experience in an audit, compliance, or control validation environment
Preferred: Knowledge of model governance processes and regulatory requirements for large US banks.
Preferred: At least 4 years’ experience in building, validating, or auditing technical systems
