Our Opportunity:

The Business Development Officer will be the international retail ambassador for our corporate clients. The BDO will help to deepen and grow existing client relationships by working alongside Relationship Managers to inform and educate employees on the value of Schwab. The BDO will act as the international retail subject matter expert by driving a deeper understanding of our retail solutions for both Stock Plan Services and Compliance Solutions clients and prospects by facilitating and presenting educational seminars. To ensure the best client/employee experience this role will be responsible for understanding details of the corporate relationships to assist with employee account opening, preparing workshop material, coordinating events, and providing an overview of Schwab’s broader platform. This role is critical to the overall corporate relationship and an ability to build strong relationships and provide the highest level of support is a key to long term success.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as an education and sales support resource for International Stock Plan Services and Compliance Solutions clients and prospects

  • Support our international corporate contact by delivering on the specific needs of local corporate client employees

  • Host events for corporate client employees, participate in client events as keynote speakers, and promote new product/program launches

  • Understand the B2B2C structure to support the Relationship Manager(s) in assessing, developing, and presenting solutions to clients and prospects

  • Engage in client meetings as needed for complex scenarios and consultations, including those of our high net worth clients

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience demonstrating a strong understanding of the B2B environment

  • 5+ years of successful financial services experience, previous wholesaling and equity compensation experience preferred

  • Driven individual that is a self-starter and motivated to succeed

  • Excellent presentation skills, both in creation and delivery of content, to current and prospective Schwab clients

  • Strong interpersonal styles and communicate effectively and professionally to quickly connect with clients’/employees’ goals and objectives

  • Proven ability to influence without authority

  • Ability to create solutions to address unique needs

  • Demonstrated excellent project and time management skills

  • Able to collaborate and work effectively with other functions within Schwab to meet Client and Employee needs.

  • Active and eager learner able to quickly establish personal credibility

  • Quickly learns from experience and translates learning into new behavior and approaches.

  • Demonstrates good judgment and knows when and how to call on other resources.

  • Occasional travel required
