Our Opportunity:

In Corporate Risk Management, we provide an integrated risk management strategy that supports the delivery of predictable financial and operational performance in order to produce successful client and shareholder outcomes. We are organized around six primary functions: Credit, Market, and Investment Risk; Enterprise Risk; Information Security Risk; Model Risk, Operational Risk; and Deposits & Payments Risk. Our Deposits & Payments Risk team manages the risk of loss in deposit and payment services offered through Schwab Bank and Brokerage affiliates.

What you’ll do:

The Fraud Strategy Analyst is an individual contributor position that will have a hands-on role in the effective management of Charles Schwab payment products to acceptable levels of client experience and fraud risk. This individual will be responsible for analytics and research that identifies emerging fraud trends and provides the basis for changes to real-time transaction decision strategies and/or internal processes and procedures as needed to support overall goals. The Fraud Analyst will also be expected to provide insights surrounding the use of online and mobile authentication tools and strategies to manage risk of loss in emerging new electronic payments channels.

  • Development and oversight of fraud risk strategies for Schwab debit card portfolios;

  • Tactical ownership of fraud risk policies and procedures to support various payment product / service offerings;

  • Application administration for card fraud applications including Falcon, Visa Risk Manager, and Visa Risk Services Manager.

  • Provide insights to support the use of digital client authentication methods, including voice-based systems;

  • Analyze data and KPI reporting to ensure performance is as planned and take necessary action(s) with findings.

  • Produce and present scheduled periodic reporting.

What you have:

  • Ideally, 5 – 8 years of progressive experience in payments fraud analytics and management in a retail banking or e-commerce environment.

  • Advanced data analytics skills including advanced level skills in SQL and/or SAS, Teradata, or related; Python and/or R experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to process large quantities of data, summarize key findings, and present effectively to upper management.

  • Experience defining and implementing operational processes and procedures, ideally in a fraud management environment.

  • Basic understanding of decision engine strategies and concepts.

  • Excellent and proven relationship management skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.

  • Experience with implementation and use of online security, KYC, and mobile authentication tools a plus.
